"Building a better groove for tomorrow"

Home Other Releases About Spirit
Spirit Records, based in Charlotte, NC, produces and markets new modern soul/rhythm & blues-influenced pop music.
Often drawing on classic elements of soul/R&B, Spirit fuses the traditional with the new, creating it's own brand of music in the process.
All of Spirit's music is original, and is written, produced, and recorded "in-house" at the label's Private Eye Studio at Area 15 in Charlotte.
With the release of the "Soul Project: Reconnection" CD, Spirit celebrated it's 27th year of operation.
Over the years, the label has found success regional to international in scope.
In early 2006, Sonja Grier's "Right Here, Right Now" (from the Soul Project "Reconnection" CD) became an underground phenomonon in the UK, while Maria Howell's "Somethin' You Got", and Pamela North's "Good Girl Gone" were playing in the US.
Past Spirit highlights include Sonja Grier's national top twenty dance/club hit, "Love Flight 109", a Billboard Magazine pick for Maria Howell's "What Does Christmas Mean To You", and Debby Dobbins' "Can't Help This Feelin'" which charted on 165 stations and propelled her to Hollywood and a worldwide TV performance on Star Search.
These songs and others, are all available on the CD, "Carolina Soul: The Spirit Records Anthology" (1979-2000).
And with the release of the new Sonja Grier "Reverse Evolution" single, on Spirit's new Area 15 imprint, the groove continues.
